ArkaPro
I Installed uphuck_10.4.9_universal_dvd_v1.3.ISO succesfuly! I ran Jcool's Method for my VGA card and it worked like a charm! Big UP for Jcool!!! Now all I need to run OSX86 perfectly is to run asap18's bash script. (for SOUND and LAN) I Dloaded it... but couldnt find a proper guide or "step by step" walkthrough. I placed the "p5kefix.sh" file and the "files" folder in the root of the OS X. Im completly new in OSX world, so I tryed to drag&drop the p5kefix.sh file to the terminal. I pressed Enter and I got "operation not permited" at each line - so I guess it didnt do nothing. I read in some linux guide that I should write this before runing the script: sudo /bin/sh Then enter your password. So I did it and it seemed to work, but after I restarted - the OS X couldn't boot! I got the "Still waiting for the root device" error... Check my sig to see my hardware specs. The sata in Bios set to AHCI BTW - I have the P5K Deluxe, it seems that asap18's bash script is for P5K-E... (the file name is "p5ke.zip") Man I really want this to work. how can I restore the changes? should I Re-install again? Isnt there a "safe mode"? or installation disk repair? HELP! BJMoose
Hi ArkaPro, sorry, I don't have that board so I'm not familiar with the bash script you mention. I have been trying to get accurate info on the Sapphire X1950XT with Jccool. Is your monitor working DVI to DVI or do you have to use a DVI/VGA adapter? fustyler
asap18's script works for p5k-e motherboards. for p5k deluxe I think you need to read up the board for p5k deluxe. from memory the deluxe uses a different LAN and sound chipset. give this a good read http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=53651 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60741-asap18s-bash-script/#findComment-431348 Share on other sites
ArkaPro
BJMoose: I have been trying to get accurate info on the Sapphire X1950XT with Jccool. Is your monitor working DVI to DVI or do you have to use a DVI/VGA adapter? So YES it worked right out DVI to DVI recognized my native res (1600x1200) and also recognized the monitor (Dell 2007FP). I wanted to post a picture.. but right now my OS x will not boot - because what I wrote above... I didn't do any benches - since I'm a newbe and dont know how yet... once I'll have the Mobo fully oporational I'll start Benching... About the script, I would appreciate, if someone explain to how to work with BASH SCRIPTS in general... How do I need to run them properly...? I tryed to PM asap18 but he didnt answer me.. (I guess he gets too many PMs). I just wanted to ask him if that bash script works with P5K deluxe. and how should I make it work. I'll try to read more about it...
