Hi all,

I have been looking around the forum for a solution to my problem. But to no avail. I am looking for a solution to fix my sound card issue with my Dell. I believe my soundcard is a Sigmatel 9220 and I have tried the AppleHDA patcher with the Linux Codec Dump, it tells me my card is incompatible. When I tried to get my own Linux Codec Dump from a Ubuntu Live CD, I wasn't able to... the Codec#0 file is empty. I tried other solutions out there but they don't work. I am running 10.4.10 as you can see. I have been able to remedy the situation temporarily by using my Logitech USB 350 Headphones which actually work great. But I would like to be able to use my audio inputs with Garage band. Anyone got the same system as me, that could give me some instructions?

Many thanks...

I was able to get my codec#0 linux codec dump using Ubuntu Live CD after all... Didn't quite know how to get it before. I simply used

cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 > /home/ubuntu/codec.txt

in terminal. Seems the Card is a Sigmatel 9221 A1.

I'll post the codec file tonight when I get back from work.

I dumped the file in AppleHDA patcher it did it's work with no errors. But I think I'm working with to recent a kernel (8.10.1) because on reboot I still don't get sound. I will post on the AppleHDA thread to try to resolve the situation... I'll keep this thread alive though so that those of you that have the same system as me can easily fix their probs (if I solve it) without having to go through the 100s of pages on that thread

Edit: Uploaded the codec for those with Dell Dimension 9150 (XPS 400) let me know if one of you gets it working with 10.4.10 & the 8.10.1 kernel.
