elmersky
Hi, I've problem with temperature in my HP NX9420 laptop. Temperature monitor shows all the time temperature from ~ 66 to ~ 75`C. I use only one core, because the other one had to be disabled during installation. Is there any way to make this processor cooler? You kind of have to play it by ear, literally. What are the fans doing? If you think it is running much hotter than it should consistently then you may not want to use it until you can get speedstep working or throttle it back some. On the other hand, temperature monitor reports temps that seem high to many people. On my Macbook, under full load temperature monitor shows 72C before the fans kick in and bring it down to ~65C again. On my desktop, idle temp is around 50C and load nears 70C before the fans come up. I am not too concerned because I know the Macbook handles its temps correctly, so either they are being reported high or it is safe to run that high. bonestonne
when i installed through VMWare Workstation, i had only selected one core, however my computer utilizes both in all OSes, and runs very well at that. if you reenabled the core, does OS X stop working? the one core may be extremely stressed, and thats actually really bad for a dual core system.
