Ok, I start the OS up and I see the blue background but there's all these weird colors on my screen. Maybe the drivers? I have a thinkpad T60

I installed the x1x00 driver under ATI and that's it for the VGA part. If I do diagnostics mode a lot shows up but I see that it says "VID: family specific matching fails" Does anyone know anything I can do? Thanks so much.

you may have a graphics driver issue.

 

download the driver, put it on a USB drive or whatever, boot into safe mode [hold down shift at grey apple screen] and try to install it then.

 

if its not a graphics issue then maybe OSx86 simply isn't compatible enough to run on your laptop.

 

when you start up/installed the system, did you have the battery in and were you plugged in? you might try starting with one or the other to see if thats the issue.

 

aside from that i don't quite know what to tell you.

Hm, the HCL says " for X1600 and X1800, and perhaps some of the X1000 series. Does not support X1400." But there are people who get it working... Too bad they don't try to help other people out
