start up hangs at 'using 3932 buffer headers...'

Hi there,

My friend recently tried to install the latest uphuck version for intel. we got it all installed, but it hangs. By using -v at startup, it says

 

hi mem tramps at 0xffe00000

using 392 buffer headers and 3932 cluster IO buffer headers

 

then it hangs there.

 

any ideas?

 

its a toshiba A10 satelitte noteboook

2.2ghz celeron

768 mb ram

30gb hd (6.4 gb partition for mac)

64 mb video memory

 

motherboard a toshiba, with intel chipset.

 

any help much appreciated :)
