cyclonefr
it isn't. I actually think it's even faster from what I saw Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60481-ahci-sata-mode/#findComment-429900 Share on other sites
Allsop
noticed a noticable slowdown of hardisk read performance in AHCI mode on the P5K-VM mainboard. In "AJA KONA System Test" I get Write 59 mb/s Read 45 mb/s which is pretty unacceptable for my HD Samsung 501LJ. So I switched to a PCI-E Sata controller Sil3132 with base bios for my HD ang got significant better performance of Write 69 Mb/s Read 69 Mb/s..... Still not close to the performance of my old mainboard p5ld2-vm from which I got close to 76 Mb/s for both read and write... but it's better than the slow AHCI.... ovof
So, with a P35 mobo, we must use ahci mode, and so, we have worse performance than a good old 945G mobo like p5ld2-vm Thanks for the answer, i'm sad now Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60481-ahci-sata-mode/#findComment-430392 Share on other sites
