s_i_l
Hi, I have OS X 10.4.8 JaS on my Thinkpad T40. It does 1024x768 on the thinkpad screen fine. When I attach my new Widescreen LG monitor which does 1680x1050, I still just get 1024x768 on it. I can't change the resolution through the System Preferences and I've tried forcing 1680x1050 using the boot config file. Is there any way I can get this to work? The ThinkPad T40 has a Radeon Mobility 7500 which does 1680x1050 fine inside Windows. Ideally I could get a dual head running between the external widescreen and the laptop's inbuilt screen (I have this setup under Windows XP). I've tried getting QE to work with this laptop a little while ago (forget exactly what I downloaded and tried) - it didn't work - my only point is that as far as i can remember, i'm still using the original drivers, kexts etc that came with JaS 10.4.8. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60421-external-monitor-at-a-higher-resolution/ Share on other sites
djj3w
Word! I've got a thinkpad t30.. everything runs including QE... but no openGL. When i have my external LCD plugged in, I can get the mirror, but i can't extend desktop or change settings in any way. My external lcd only does 1024x768 but i'd like to figure out how to extend my desktop. If you need any help with QE or anything PM me.
