TheLearner
Hi all, I have to thank you all for this wonderful website. As my displayname shows, I am a learner. I want to migrate my Winodws Vista (Intel) based Dell laptop to Mac. Can someone, please, help me understand what do I need and from where can I get it. Danyel
Hi TheLearner: I would have to agree with you. This is a wonderful site and resource for all things Mac and OSx86. I custom built my computer last summer based on specs from OSx86 Wiki to see some idea of how the installation went and what things are working. Another resource would be to search the Forums. An example would be search for Dell Latitude D630 to see what others have experienced. If you decide to go ahead with installing OSx86 on your PC, the next step would be to search for Installation DVD (example: Myzar 10.4.6 bittorent) and burn onto DVD-ROM using program like Nero Express, EZ CD Creator, etc. Once you have it burned, backup all the documents and files from your laptop. After that, you can try installing using the DVD-ROM you just burned. That's about it! Good luck. --danyel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/60405-dell-latitude-d630-mac-osx86-transformation/#findComment-429858 Share on other sites
TheLearner
Hi Danyel, Thanks for the reply. I have successfully downloaded the JaS 10.4.8. Shall I go ahead with it or use it via VMWare?
