Remo
Hi guys Do you know how to make a realtek ALC882M work? it's a high definition sound card with 5.1 surround, but actually I just need stereo output that's enough. my sound board in the system preferences panel tells me there is no audio device available. so may I need to tell os x where and what kind of my audiocard is? if so, how do I do this? thanks, remo Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/59869-help-for-audio-output-needed/ Share on other sites

Remo
Somehow I missed that one... Thanks.I tried that out. First problem: I did not have the AppleAzaliaAudio kext file(what's a kext btw?), so I downloaded it from the internet somewhere.Second problem: I did not have the values in there I was told to replace:<key>IOHDAudioCodecVendorID</key><string>0x10ec0880</string>I had some hex strings there which were a lot longer. I just changed them to the one written in the tutorial. After I changed all those kext, I cleaned up the system but there is still no audio device recognized in the system preference panel...any other ideas?thanks!works now I had to change the value to 882m...
