tehmazing Posted August 12, 2007 Share Posted August 12, 2007 I just got xp on here after a god awful experience with Windows *cough* mac os x rip-off *cough* Vista. I would really like Mac OS X i cannot use bittorrent anymore however, a friend of mine is sending me the Jas installer via snail mail. Everything seems like it would be pretty compatable except sound. Its sigmatel HD i think 9200 but am not sure. Emachine doesn't carry exact specs (big suprise there) and driver hunting was easy yet i still didn't know the exact name of the hardware cause i used the Sigmatel HD 92xx driver. I have heard people getting it to work simply by changing some BIOS options or some kext files. I really don't know what to do i have a c-major based 5.1 card upstairs made by diamond should i use that? it was like 30 bucks so i don't really care if mac os x screws that up, however i don't want it ruining the integrated sound on here. So my question is how would i get internal sound working what should i try (and it what order) or should i use my card upstairs thats just gathering dust. This is my moms pc and i want something thats completely usable (yes i am gonna use osx86 as a main install). Thanks in advance for the help!
