abcsoy
Here is a bit of info for a problem I ran into, I have the D945GNT motherboard, running 10.4.10 everything was fine. Until I was watching a movie off of my IDE storage drive, my primary drive is a SATA. The machine locked up unexpectedly and was unresponsive. When I rebooted, I found that my sound and my IDE devices where no longer there. I tried just deleting the kext cache, regenerating and rebooting but that didnt work so I replaced IOATAFamily.kext (for ide) and AppleHDA.kext (for sound) backups from my 10.4.8 installation. Rebooted and things went back to their working state. I thought it was a bit strange, anyone else run into this or anything similar?
