chedabob
My machine: Amd Athlon X2 5600+ (64 bit) Gigabyte m61pm-s2 (nForce 430) Ati Radeon 1950 Pro 512mb 10gb Seagate PATA drive I can install it just fine (Not sure if I can say which install disc I'm using), select the AMD ATA kext option, and the ATI X1000 driver option, and the install goes fine. When I reboot though, I just get a bluescreen (like what should normally show) but no cursor or anything. I've left it for 30 minutes, still nothing. Although the hard drive light does stay on. I also tried a default install, and I've changed the partition from HFS journaled to just plain HFS, and still nothing. Any ideas what the issue is? I had a look on google for blue screen issues, and all I got was a mention of secondary displays for laptops. I tried swapping which DVI connector my monitor was plugged into (I had it on the secondary ) but it didn't help. I also tried running it in -v mode, and I get a few errors, but nothing that stops the boot. "Couldn't set up diskarb sessions" "display: family specific matching fails" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/59727-1048-wont-boot/ Share on other sites
articquad
Hah, You have a laptop, I presume? Start it with an external monitor plugged in. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/59727-1048-wont-boot/#findComment-425181 Share on other sites
chedabob
Nope. I tried a method I saw here: http://www.macgeekblog.com/blog/archive/20...se3-is-out.html But it didn't help (there wasn't a r2d2.kext file) Could it be anything to do with the DVI ports? I've heard mention of people using VGA cables instead of DVI cables, but the isn't really an option for me. EDIT: Right, I got it to boot (reinstalled with the non-titan ATi kext, and the login screen fix). Now, I can't get network, sound, or SATA. Network is my priority. The board has the Realtek RTL8211 ethernet. Is there any way to get this working?
