Hi can anyone help Please.

I am trying to fix a problem with mounting Disk Images in finder I am getting an error saying "The Following disk images failed to mount. Reason Device not configured"

For now I am using Toast Titanium to mount Images.

And also I cant mount Firewire/USB drives until I restart the PC.

Everything worked in Mac OS X 10.4.9 (Uphank 4.1i r3) but stoped working when update to 10.4.10 (koolkal updater) I had to replace the mach_kerel back to the old version so it can bootup.

Sorry for my spelling

Thank you

Greetings MR.Please do search the forum. problem is. you gotta know what version of the kernel that you are using. If you are using kernel for 10.4.9, then you MUST be using system.kext from 10.4.9, if you are using 10.4.10, then system.kext must be from 10.4.10. Got that? Do at search, here is the basis of your solution. :)MatthewGreetings MR.Please do search the forum. problem is. you gotta know what version of the kernel that you are using. This how I fix it.

Install Mac OS X 10.4.9 (Uphank 4.1i r3)

Backup files

loginwindow.app

AppleACPIplatform.kex

AppleSMBIOS.kext

AppleAPIC.kextAppleCPUThermo.kext

AppleThermal.kext

IOATAFamily.kext

System.kext

AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext

mach_kernel

Must not restart

use koolkal 10.4.10 intel combo sse2 & sse3 V2

copy backup files back to the right places

Removed AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext

Then used Pacifist reinstall

mach_kernel

System.kext

from Uphank 4.1i r3

Then used Disk Utility to repair Permissions

Restart with -v
