Grey-Echo
I'm running a Dell Latitude D800 on a Pentium M 2.1GHz w/ 2GB RAM. My processor supports SSE2, not SSE3. The only operating system running on the computer at this time is OSx86, and it was installed using the JaS 10.4.8 DVD installer package. Everything is running great after some hardcore tweaking, but I really would like to get my video card supported so that I can run some graphic-intensive programs like in Windows. I know this can only be done to an extent, and I've tried various packages already to get this done. The following video card packages haven't worked for me: - Titan Used the Automatic package as well as the manual one. And yes, I replaced the default gfx id number with my correct gfx card id as stated in the readme file. - MacVidia Used the Automatic package. Each time I install them, I reboot and I get the classic black screen with the large power icon stating "You need to power down or restart your system", forcing me to reinstall OSx86 each time. I've reinstalled over 10 times now because of this one issue, and I never thought it'd be this hard to get this working. All I want to do is to be able to change my resolution and run some games, but apparently that's a bit too much to ask at this point. Please, if anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to everything. There's a lot of old topics out there relating to this topic, but the solutions have either not worked for me or are too outdated to be trusted anymore. Thanks in advance, everyone. Grey-Echo
SOLUTION! They all work: Titan, MacVidia. The problem is that whatever resolution you get after installing them is the resolution you'll have to keep. Changing it after installing can cause some serious problems and make your OSx86 installation no longer bootable, which is obviously something you'd like to avoid. There is no solution for this problem at this time. I'll update you here if I find one, though.
