itisonlyatest Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 I really need some help. I finally got this Hackintosh software installed. I'm running the latest version, 10.4.10. My soundcard, a cheap AC97 is not recognized in output, and does not work... (it was recognized, but then I tried a fix from this forum, and its not there now, and it does not work...) My resolution is only 1024x768, and thats the only one I can choose. I would like to have it at 120x1024 if possible, thats what I usually use, anyone know how to do it? My CDRW/DVD drive is not recognized, even though it works, if I try to boot something... If anyone could please help me in resolving these issues I would be very grateful... Thanks! bibendum Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 You need an appropriate driver for your graphics card if you want to go beyond simple VGA. Did you check the wiki? The UPHUCK install DVD contains drivers for most supported cards. Since I upgraded to .10, should I reinstall that patch? Downloaded the AC97 driver, and put it in Extensions. Then I repaired permissions and rebooted. When it loaded again I got this:System extension cannot be used.The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update.Any more ideas? zedle Posted August 11, 2007 Share Posted August 11, 2007 More specs on your system would be helpful, but I'd say try installing the JaS 10.4.8, which i've seen work with most configs, and update to 10.4.10 from there (10.4.8->10.4.9 -> 10.4.10). Doesn't sound fun, and its not guaranteed, but its worth a shot and might give you a full working system.
