I have tried to do a search on this, but as the search function refuses point blank to accept "Intel Pro 100/VM" as a search string, it's a bit difficult.

Subject line says it all. I have installed from the Uphuck 10.4.9 r1.4i ISO.

I have found some information that says the older AppleIntel8255x.kext works - have put that into my extensions folder, and as per the instructions that came with download for the older kext, I removed Extensions.mkext, and rebooted - no joy.

I have found other stuff that talks about editing the plist, modifying device IDs - but can't make sense of it

This is a relatively common network adapter - someone out there must be able to help a relative Hackintosh novice get it to work...?

Many thanks for any help.

I have the same problem. I'm using a Compaq Evo D51S ($100 for the complete box), and everything works right out of the box except networking, which is not seen. I believe this computer uses the intel 845g chipset, with the intel PRO/100 VM networking. I am using JaS 10.4.8 with AMD/SSE/SSE2. Thanks in advance.
