Hiya,

I tried since 3 days to get OSX working on my laptop, a Toshiba A100-683. The installation goes flawless, but then it asks to reboot, and starts to boot in OSX I get the grey screen with the silver Apple, and underneath it the circle.

After that my display just turns of. I can't do anything at that moment.

After a Google search, I came to the conclusion that the problem is my X1600 mobile.

Ok, so let's ask again Google, and Google says 'start with -v -s', then '/sbin/mount -uw /'. And then navigate to '/System/Library/Extensions/', and there delete the ati******.kext.

But there is no 'Extensions' folder in the Library folder.

I tried fsck, but that said that the drive was write locked, so I tried mkdir, but I can't write on the disk.

Anyone who can help me? Greatly appriceated :D

Try an external monitor. Maybe if you get it up on an external monitor you can configure the internal. For example, if it was trying to display a resolution that was out of range it would most likely be black. However, upon changing that you may be fine.
