I'd like to remove the physical installation of Vista on my machine and reclaim the disk space. I dual-boot, first through the Vista bootloader, then into Darwin.

I think the easy way to do it would be to open diskutil and format the Vista partition. But something tells me there's more to it.

Vista is the first partition on the disk. I'd like to:

1. remove Vista

2. repair the MBR for the Darwin loader

3. have Darwin boot the second partition by default (or, move osx to the first partition)

Anyone know a good way to do these things?

[EDIT 8.9.07] I decided to completely reclaim the disk space and blow away everything - start from scratch.

The problem is it's very difficult to resize partitions in osx86. Not impossible, but difficult/tricky and something could go wrong. The safest way is to re-format your entire hard drive and re-install. If you REALLY don't wanna do that, I'll give you instructions I have found to resize partitions.

That's if you want the Vista partition removed, otherwise, you could use it for data storage...
