I have Jas OSX86 10.4.8 installed any when i launched the "Disk Utility" from Application/Utility/ I could see all the partitions I have made:

0(primary): 12GB NTFS

1(primary): 30GB Mac Ext Journal ( I installed OSX86 here)

2(primary): 10GB Fat32 ( want to convert this to Mac Ext Journal )

3(primary): 23GB Fat32 ( WinXP data & Sharing Drive with OSX )

But When I choose a Volume/Partition and select "Erase" All the options are greyed out (not accesible).

Can anybody help ?

Yes this is my bootup harddisk.

I already have 4 partitions.

I just want to erase/reformat the 3rd partition to "Mac ext journal"

So, you mean if i boot from the install Dvd then i can format it ?

Thanks a lot... i'll try it out today... as a backup i'll keep Partition magic too.

if you were not able to erase the fat32 partition under disk utility, i suggest that you mount it manually and try to erase it again.

if you cant mount it, then better use a windows xp bootcd to delete the third partition, just delete it without formatting it. Just leave it as it is, meaning it is raw or unformatted,

then boot your osx, run disk utility and re-attempt to erase the third partition and convert it to mac os journal.
