Freezing on disk utility ... help plz

Well, i get to the installation interface and then click the disk utility and choose the partition i made, adn then click "Disk Utility" adn then erase with the "Mac OS X Extended Journaled" one, and then i click erase, and the cd begins to spin, then it just stops and it freezes right there :S I have all of the correct hardware for running OS X however it just freezes everytime i try untill i restart :S

 

I dont know if it is important however i also noticed that there was no "Mount Point" which i am unfamiliar with however im not sure of how important that is. Well thanks for anyone who can help it is very much appreciated
