i have a patched dvd image and no dvd drive to use it with, and i cant boot from usb what can i do. without buying anything

 

btw i found this video http://www.cnettv.com/9710-1_53-28784.html?tag=nl.e404 but its not helping its very generalized and there arent really any steps to follow but thats the basic idea of what im hoping to to. only instead of using the external case i have an ide adapter to just use a temp internal drive

Damn Small Linux has (or had) a floppy disk that was designed to load a bootloader that would pass things off to whatever it would find on a USB drive. I don't know if it will work out of the box for you, might not work or it might need some tweaking. Best advice: Your time might end up being worth more than the $10-15 for a DVD-ROM on sale.
