phreak9i6
I've been reading/searching/trying. I'm at a loss. Currently I have an AGP x1600 ATI card. I need DVI to work. I'm at a complete loss. I just want mirror not extended. Right now my osx86 box is headless and I need to plug it into a TV (mostly for frontrow). The VGA port works great. I have not been able to get the DVI port to work what-so-ever. I have tried the Natit.kext, dualx1600.plist and the NatitX1600.kext, nothing seems towork. I get resolution selection (when hooked up via vga), CI/QE, etc. Just not DVI out. Please I beg of someone to help me figure this out. ox86 running the uphuck v1.3 installer of 10.4.9. currently using the NatitX1600.kext. I appreciate any help. phreak9i6
Thatss a great suggestion, the only problem is my video destination is a HDMI connection not a VGA connection. So I'm using an DVI->HMDI cable to output video to my HDTV Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58862-osx86-x1600-dvi-port-issues/#findComment-419999 Share on other sites
bibendum
It may be that the hardware does not support DVI - when I was playing around with flashing PC Gfx cards to be used on the Mac, some could only be made to work on the VGA, not DVI because the chips that fed the DVI were not compatible with how the Mac was using the board. Whether or not this has anything to do with your problem, I can't say - any chance of you trying a different gfx card? phreak9i6
If I buy another card, I might as well just go out and get a mac mini for a few hundred bux more. I was hoping to use this system as a media pc for my home theater. Krazubu
Some rare X1600 have DVI working with the good'ol boris badenov method. What makes the difference is probably the BIOS, if it doesn't work you may consider flashing your card with the BIOS from one that's known to have DVI working, be carefull about what you do tho. About TV out, there's no hope, same for spanned desktop, but dual screen works on most cards, I dunno if it's OK when using DVI tho.
