So, I have an OS X box set up with a GeForce FX5200 dual head card. One head is DVI and the other VGA. Now I know I can only get single head mode working and that would be just great. Well I originally went about connecting my OS X box to my Sony SXRD 50 inch 1080p TV through the vga only to find it was not capable of handling the 1080p resolution. So I bought a DVI to HDMI cable as I have read the SXRD does do 1080p with the HDMI. So I plug the DVI into the computer and the HDMI to the TV and boot. Nothing. Now, I expected the bios not to display as it does not output in 1080p, however I did expect it to come up when it loaded the OS. Well, after some toiling I find that the DVI to HDMI cable is not being detected properly by the video card driver and it still boots up into VGA. For testing I have both the VGA cable and HDMI cable hooked up to the TV. So I decided to try the VGA cable to the TV and a VGA to DVI adapter on the video card's DVI port. That worked fine to the VGA resolutions and booted into OS X. Once there I switched the VGA cable with the DVI adapter with my DVI to HDMI cable to see if it would allow for the higher resolutions. Well it did work (kind of) I was able to see OS X through the HDMI cable input on my TV, however the resolutions available were not quite right. It had 1920x1080 (interlaced) as the only 1080 option. I didn't want 1080i, I want 1080p. I don't want to have to boot OS X on the VGA and switch the cable with the HDMI every time I boot it. Is there anyone out there that knows how I can resolve my dilemma?

I realize these symptoms are most likely due to the incompatibilities of the kext for this video card. I am using the GeForce FX5200 Installer found here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=36435

Someone out there please supply me with the knowledge I require and I will use it to better the world!
