koojoo
hello there. i am new to this forum and osx86 for that matter. i got osx86 installed on my dell inspiron 9400 Intel Core 2 DUO 2.0ghz 2gb ram. i ended up installing first the jas 10.4.8 image but had graphics p[roblems (after bootup would give me grey/black vertical lines, nothing more) so i installed 10.4.6 image, and after about 3 hours of messing around with partition types, etc etc i got it to finally boot, and from there i upgraded to 10.4.8 with JaS image. so now the beast booted up, i got to answer all of the new lovely questions here, and i got past the internet setup, then all the windows dissapear, leaving me with the blue background and a grey sorta waiting wheely thingy (NOT the coloured pinwheel). It has now been hanging for 20 minutes. I have read somewhere that dual core cpus are not supported and i need to disable one in order to run osx86, but i also read somewhere that osx supports dual core normally without problem. now if i DO have to disable a CPU, would i do this via my dell bios? i currently have it dual booting with vista, so if i do have to use the bios does that mean that every time i want to switch back and forth i will have to go into the bios and turn the other core on/off? or is there a more convenient way to do it via the darwin bootloader? anyways, all help will be appreciated. i jumped for joy when i got it installed and whatnot, but now im all sad again! please help! peace, chris.
