animemasterchief
woah, WEIRD problem. I followed a guide that told me to how to do everything, and installed xp, made a new partition, insalled OSX on that, and then used Acronis BootLoader (It said to in the tutorial, and I kinda liked it, it had a GUI haha). OSX wouldn't boot from Acronis, so I went and uninstalled it, NOW im using Darwin's Bootloader, and if I don't have my UpHuck 1.3 Dvd in the drive, and press F8 in under 8 seconds, then in advanced booting, enter "rd=disk0s2" I can't boot into OS X. With Disk in Drive: - Total hassle. - Can't boot into XP as far as I know? Haven't tried "rd=disk0s1" - It's dumb. - It's complicated. - Darwin doesn't have a GUI. Without Disk in Drive: - Booting OS X via Darwin in (via "rd=....", not pressing anything, or selecting it in advance opts.) leads to a continuous Grey Apple Logo with the spinny thing. - Can boot XP fine. - Darwin still doesn't have a GUI! SO, to sum up, what's wrong, how do I fix it, and is there any way to get a working GUI BootLoader, or even just two icons? boinkytwo
that's how acronis messes your partition... you can fix that problem by using a bootcd... make your osx partition active. update the mbr... and reboot... for dual booting guide... check my guide Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/58752-strange-boot-problems/#findComment-419302 Share on other sites
