I've been using OS X 86 for a while now without much problems, with 512mb RAM.

Yesterday I bought two 512 DDR DIMMS and installed them in dual channel, giving me 1GB (I took out the older dimm). Now, applications close all the time and the system freezes suddenly. I run memtest overnight and it found no errors.

Is it possible that it's not working because of dual channel?

One more thing, About this Mac reports 2GB of memory, could that be the problem? When I had 512 it said 1GB and it worked fine :S

Thanks!

I am running with 3gb of Dual Channel RAM.

2x 1gb in the first channel and 2x 512mb in the second channel.

My OSX reports 3gb of RAM and works like a charm, and the BIOS does show the RAM as running in Dual Channel mode. :(

Some motherboards are very particular about the RAM you can use for Dual Channel operation, and usually it is best to use matched memory modules for Dual Channel mode.
