there has been some speculation over the features that the iphone brings. is there rumors for untapped potential for the iphone?

"The CPU used in the iPhone is the Samsung S5L8900 - An ARM 1176JZF-S based cpu.

The PXA320 CANNOT be the cpu/chipset because the PXA320 IS NOT A SAMSUNG CHIP

(This chipset is known to have A-GPS and 3G capability. But, we cannot yet confirm that this is the chipset that is in use.)

ARM Intelligent Energy Manager (claimed to reduce power consumption 25-50% in portables)

16K / 16K cache

Features vector floating point coprocessor ("for embedded 3D-graphics")

ARM Jazelle enabled for embedded Java execution (hmm...)

SIMD, high perf integer CPU (8-stage pipeline, 675 Dhrystone-2.1 MIPS)

0.45 mW/MHz power draw (with cache) "

according to apple they chose not to use 3g because the phones battery life would suffer. most say that cingulars 3g network was not strong enough to hold the more than 200,000 thousand iphone activations.

if the battery claim is true then does apple plan to release a 3g-less iphone less than one year away?

the psp is really a 333mhz machine but for more than 2 years it only used 266 speed to conserve battery life.

do your research you can find many people debating what is or whats missing. cross your fingers.
