If the CPU running lower frequencies than the nominal doesn't mean that it doesn't use both cores. Just press the ctrl+shift+escape to start Task Manager, and take a look at the "Performance" tab: if you can see two "CPU Usage History" Graph, the Windows is using both cores.

Your CPU is running on 1GHz because of power-saving features. If you start some resource-demanding application, the frequency will rise to the nominal.

thanks!~ :D when i checked it before the cpu was on idle and i just tested it by opening some programs and it's says 2.16GHz. Woohoo.

 

I was just a bit worried coz for some bizzare reason my bro installed windows vista with 2.4GHz core2duo but only running single core on a desktop. he had to reinstall vista and it was fine. weird.

For Vista I can recommend a Sidebar Gadget called MultiMeter, it shows the usage of both cores and the memory. I like it! :(

I know some drvies at the bttom sam unvail... meaning there monting my DVD drives.. they only show ether Unvailb ( when nothing in the drive) and full if there is a disc in the drive.. ntohing inbetween...

 

as u see in my computer I have that many drives as wel las macdrive 7 instaleld to let me wrtie and read fomr hte OSX 80 gig drive as a stander windows drive as well

so do you have a dual boot with vista and OSX? If so, any stability or any other issues with running OSX?
