115x
i bought a macbook pro 15" core2duo (T7400) 2.16GHz and using bootcamp for windows. i noticed in windows it's only running single core (994MHz) instead of the 2.16GHz it should be. anyone have the same problem? any ideas on how to resolve this problem? fuken
If the CPU running lower frequencies than the nominal doesn't mean that it doesn't use both cores. Just press the ctrl+shift+escape to start Task Manager, and take a look at the "Performance" tab: if you can see two "CPU Usage History" Graph, the Windows is using both cores. Your CPU is running on 1GHz because of power-saving features. If you start some resource-demanding application, the frequency will rise to the nominal. 115x
thanks!~ when i checked it before the cpu was on idle and i just tested it by opening some programs and it's says 2.16GHz. Woohoo. I was just a bit worried coz for some bizzare reason my bro installed windows vista with 2.4GHz core2duo but only running single core on a desktop. he had to reinstall vista and it was fine. weird. fuken
For Vista I can recommend a Sidebar Gadget called MultiMeter, it shows the usage of both cores and the memory. I like it!
