Metrogirl
I heard a rumour that Microsoft are looking at ways to tie Windows Server licensing to onboard TPM chips. If so that would put them on a par with Apple. Anyone else heard this one? It's not as far-fetched as it might seem; a lot of commercial hardware destined for back office or server farm environments is fitted with TPM chips already. IBM/Lenovo has been embedding Infineon TPM systems in most of their desktops and many of their laptops for a long time but they're disabled by default in the BIOS. An interesting article on TPM possibilites can be found in the link below, though the guy is a bit behind the times when he talks about Apple - Page 2 of the article. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/ID/10441443 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5839-will-microsoft-follow-apple-with-tpm/ Share on other sites
