Geiiga
Since I've (mostly) successfully got MacOS running on my Compaq laptop, I decided to replace my doddering old PC desktop with a new box running the same thing. However, upon booting with my DVD, I get this: Got boot device = IOService:/AppleACPIPlatformExpr/PC10@180000/AppleACPIPCI/IDE@6/AppleGenericPCATAPCIRoot/CHN0@0/AppleGeneri cPCATADriver/ATADeviceNub@0/IOATAPIProtocolTransport/IOSCSPeripheralDeviceNub/IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType05/IODVDSer BSD root: disk0s3, major 14, minor 2 Load of /sbin/launchd, errno 88, trying /sbin/mach_init Load of /sbin/launchd faile,d errno 88 It's a fully homebrew machine, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ dual-core processor, ASUS M2N-MX motherboard, some random DVD-RW drive that I got for cheap on NewEgg, and a Seagate Barracude 500 gig SATA hard drive. Oddly, when I attempted to put in my JaS 10.4.7 disc, it started the install just fine, but wanted to install the OS to my external firewire drive. I don't know if any of this is helpful, but all help is much appreciated. UserTheBest
I has the same problem installing Mac OS X x86 on VMware 5.5.1 (1 proc.; 328MB RAM: 10 GB virtual HDD; No Network adapter; DVD Drive (real)) I tried many times with different configuration but it's still doesn't work... I tried to install it from DVD-R disc(TDK) and from virtual disk (Nero ImageDrive)... Can anyone say what this error("errno 88") actually means?
