manuel
Hi, I'm trying to install Tubgirl's MacOS 10.4.10 SSE3 on my FJ Pa1538. When creating a new partition in the installation's hard disk setup tool the PC just hangs up while creating the new partition and the HD led is on. I waited about 1h but nothing happended. After creating a HFS parition with linux the installation alreading hangs while booting (even with -x flag). here are my specs: processor : 0 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 15 model : 72 model name : AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-50 stepping : 2 cpu MHz : 800.000 cache size : 256 KB physical id : 0 siblings : 2 core id : 0 cpu cores : 2 fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 1 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 ht syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt rdtscp lm 3dnowext 3dnow pni cx16 lahf_lm cmp_legacy svm extapic cr8_legacy bogomips : 1605.22 TLB size : 1024 4K pages clflush size : 64 cache_alignment : 64 address sizes : 40 bits physical, 48 bits virtual power management: ts fid vid ttp tm stc processor : 1 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 15 model : 72 model name : AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-50 stepping : 2 cpu MHz : 800.000 cache size : 256 KB physical id : 0 siblings : 2 core id : 1 cpu cores : 2 fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 1 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 ht syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt rdtscp lm 3dnowext 3dnow pni cx16 lahf_lm cmp_legacy svm extapic cr8_legacy bogomips : 1605.22 TLB size : 1024 4K pages clflush size : 64 cache_alignment : 64 address sizes : 40 bits physical, 48 bits virtual power management: ts fid vid ttp tm stc 00:00.0 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Host Bridge (rev a2) 00:00.1 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 0 (rev a2) 00:00.2 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 1 (rev a2) 00:00.3 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 5 (rev a2) 00:00.4 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 4 (rev a2) 00:00.5 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Host Bridge (rev a2) 00:00.6 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 3 (rev a2) 00:00.7 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation C51 Memory Controller 2 (rev a2) 00:02.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation C51 PCI Express Bridge (rev a1) 00:03.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation C51 PCI Express Bridge (rev a1) 00:04.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation C51 PCI Express Bridge (rev a1) 00:09.0 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation MCP51 Host Bridge (rev a2) 00:0a.0 ISA bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP51 LPC Bridge (rev a3) 00:0a.1 SMBus: nVidia Corporation MCP51 SMBus (rev a3) 00:0a.3 Co-processor: nVidia Corporation MCP51 PMU (rev a3) 00:0b.0 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation MCP51 USB Controller (rev a3) 00:0b.1 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation MCP51 USB Controller (rev a3) 00:0d.0 IDE interface: nVidia Corporation MCP51 IDE (rev f1) 00:0e.0 IDE interface: nVidia Corporation MCP51 Serial ATA Controller (rev f1) 00:10.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP51 PCI Bridge (rev a2) 00:10.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP51 High Definition Audio (rev a2) 00:14.0 Bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP51 Ethernet Controller (rev a3) 00:18.0 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] HyperTransport Technology Configuration 00:18.1 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] Address Map 00:18.2 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] DRAM Controller 00:18.3 Host bridge: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] K8 [Athlon64/Opteron] Miscellaneous Control 05:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce Go 7400 (rev a1) 07:06.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): VIA Technologies, Inc. MoDs
after creating the HFS+ parition with linux, did you change the partition ID to 'AF'? if not then you should logon to your windows and use Beeblebrox (http://students.cs.byu.edu/~codyb/) to change the partition ID from whatever it's on to 'AF'
manuel
yes, I changed it to 0xaf. Even formating the partition from installation's command line doesn't work - hangs up too. Thanks for your help Do you have any other ideas?
MoDs
Is your HD IDE or SATA? If it's SATA then make sure to change the SATA mode in your BIOS (from legacy?) to AHCI. Also make sure that the HD and DVD are on the same controller; HD master and DVD slave. Maybe you should disable S.M.A.R.T too, if applicable. manuel
I'm using a laptop so I cannot change the cable settings. And Fujitsu-Siemens thinks that users shouldn't be able to change SATA mode or SMART settings in bios. these f :censored2: king idiots
MoDs
lol. sorry, i ran outta ideas. the funny thing is that i have the same kind of laptop and it's working perfectly!
manuel
this is strange. Is it exaclty the same? FS Pa 1538? Which bios version do you have? And from which dvd image did you install?
MoDs
no no, not exactly the same. it's fujitsu siemens amilo. i used JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.
manuel
Ok, I'll give this one a try. Do you also have a Nvidia MCP51?
MoDs
no, it's ATI tell me if JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3 worked for you
manuel
JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3 has no Nvidia MCP driver, damn
MoDs
actually you can use your nvidia with it. check out http://diabolik1605.com/DHF/iNVidia.html This driver worked for my GeForce FX 5200 (AGP 8x) on my desktop PC. But anyway, did JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3 work for you?
manuel
No, without the driver I cannot access my harddisk. Is there a way to use the driver while installation?
MoDs
During installation do NOT install any drivers. That will make you access your desktop. Then you should use the nvidia installer i told you about earlier. But if you've installed it, then you can remove the driver from the single user prompt. Follow these steps: 1. Boot in single user mode: - Press F8 while booting, then enter the command "-s" 2. Mount your hard drive: - type: /sbin/mount -uw / 3. Browse to target dir: - type: cd /System/Library/Extensions 4. Delete old driver files: - type the following: sudo rm -R NVDA* sudo rm -R ATI* sudo rm -R GeForce* 5. Reboot: - type: reboot After that, you will be able to log on to your desktop without any GFX driver. At that point, try diabolik's installer. Tell me if it worked! manuel
Thanks for your hints but I cannot use them because I can not install at all. Installation with JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3 not possible: hard drive not detected Installation with Tubgirl's MacOS 10.4.10 SSE3 not possible: any hard drive access while installation crashes kernel
MoDs
ummm... I saw a modified version of JaS's that was called "JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2". That is the ppf1 and 2. I don't konw exactly what are the ppf1&2, but i suggest you search for them in this forum. Maybe this image (with these patches) are what you've been looking for.
