Hi, im sorta new to this, im sorry if this topic has already been discussed a little already, but none of the other topics answered my problem specifically.

OS X installed fine on my computer, but it wont boot up without my installation dvd in the drive, when its out of the drive, i just get a blinking dash in the top left corner.

im running JaS OS X 10.4.8 on the following specs:

Dell optiplex gx620 sff

intel pentium 4 HT 3.00 GHz

1.5 GB RAM

150 GB SATA Hard disk

ATI x1300 pcie

thanks for your help!

ok, ill try that, thanks. The computer will boot into the os when the cd is in the drive, it just wont go into the os without it.

edit: computer has a few error messages in -v mode, and stalls at loading crash reporter. then picks up again in 5 minutes. Next it gives errors telling me airport card not found, netinfo.framework not found....etc. then it boots. hope that helps.

if you need a picture, let me know.

Very odd, I'm sorry, but I can't help you. Maybe someone more knowledgeable.

You can get the boot log, if you launch Console (application in utilities directory) and click on logs. That or a picture would certainly be helpful, to post.
