Volume control problem after running Logic Express

Hi everyone!

I just got OSx86 working on my Acer Aspire 3620 laptop. It runs great overall, except for one minor sound-related problem. I have Fn+Up and Fn+Down keys that work to adjust my volume. In addition, the volume icon on the menu bar next to the clock works to change volume too. However, once I open Logic Express, both of those stop working and will not change the volume anymore (even once I've quit Logic Express). Individual application volume controls still work (such as the volume bar in iTunes), and the only way I can change system volume is to go into System Preferences and then Sound and use the "Output volume" slider there. Is there anything I can do to ensure that Logic does not break system-wide volume control on my computer?

Thanks very much!
