Hi..

I know this is a regular question, But i think i need to ask it anyways becuse of bad FAQs.

I cant install the OS. The computer stops when the white screen with the loading sign apears. And after a while a grey sign apears.

I think i have a old OSX X86 image?

Could it work with the new "weasly's" patch?

My hardware:

CPU

Name: Intel Pentium 4 630

Code name: Prescott

Instructions: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 and EM64T

Motherboard

Manufacturer: MSI

Model: P4n Diamond (MS-7160)

Chipset: NVIDIA nForce4 Intel Editon

We really need to know what you have to say for sure.

Your best bet is to grab the latest Uphuck DVD if that isn't what you have.

Either way, pressing F8 on startup to get the boot screen and using the -v option to see verbose message would help.

i have: Jas OS 10.4.7, Darwin boot 5.0.132

I have now tested the -v option.

(after a while this comes)

Still waiting for root device.

Looks like a SATA controller problem for your nforce4 chipset.

Search on Still waiting for root device, there are several lengthy threads devoted solely to that problem.

k. thx.

Hmmm.. I unplugged my SATA disc and disabled sata and other things that had relations to the nforce chipset.

And then i plugged in my old IDE disc.

Same problem?

EDIT: Creating a new topic about Nforce 4 chipset.
