canberra25 Posted July 25, 2007 Share Posted July 25, 2007 Hello, I am trying to install the Leopard WWDC beta on my eMac G4 700 on a separate partition. For some reason, when the install boots, it tells me "your computer is not compatible with Mac Os X 10.5". I don't see why that would happen. As far as I know, Leopard requires a G4 processor, but not a specific speed. Can anyone help??? thanks!! Headrush69 Posted July 25, 2007 Share Posted July 25, 2007 Yes it checks for cpu speed also. What's more it fails to account for dual CPUs that are powerful enough too. You can edit the appropriate files as needed or just search for G4 & OSInstall.mpkg and you'll find a post that has a link to the altered file you need to swap. (Either reburn DVD or copy the image to a partition and it will work.) Running on my Dual G4 500Mhz for this post. So I put in the new OSInstall.mpkg, and now when I hit install, it tells me that the install failed because the installer couldnt locate the data it needed to install the software. Now what?
