arjan mac
I updated inside the OS (JaS 10.4.8) to kernel 10.4.10 not knowing it would hang my system. So when I restart, the system hangs at the spinning wheel. I can access the mac partition from WinXP, can I replace/remove some files to get the system working again? I've spended some time to get the system the way I like, so if possible, I don't want to do a re-install My system is a HP DV9055ea, T5500, GF 7600go, 1gb, 2x 80gb Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57922-hang-after-10410-update/ Share on other sites

You must get the modified updates from the usual sources. I don't know about booting into Windows XP and accessing the Mac partition and changing out files...you may can do that and maybe someone here can help you with that. My best advice for you is to format and reinstall. consolation
No, unfortunatly I didn't. Wich files cause the system hang, then I know which I have to replace Put netkas' modified kernel in / Put the AppleSMBIOS.kext in /system/library/extensions/ normally, if you use Apple's Software Update, you do that BEFORE you let it reboot the computer ;-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57922-hang-after-10410-update/#findComment-413793 Share on other sites
