Hello guys,

I have this combo and trying to install Jas Os X 10.4.8,but taking this error.

I searched for a while before posting and find out that is an issue about SATa.

I used instead an Ide Disk instead for primary master and ide dvdrw at secondary slave, but nothing changed.

Maybe someone have the same configuration could help me...

i used to have the same problem when i first installed mac in my pc. i have the same mobo as you have. i used the JAS version. what i did was to make my IDE drive as primary master and my CD drive as slave. during the setup, i just installed the base components suited for my hardware. i didnt install the additional drivers. it seem to work if you manually load the drivers later. i didnt even go thru the installer checkup. hehehe... it went smooth, took about less than 30mins to install. the only hard time i had was loading the correct drivers for my ethernet and audio. mac seem to boot, run, function well compared to my stripped xp, in my cheap machine-- p4m800, celeron D 1.6, 1G ram. now, to complete my migration to mac is when i find a fully featured ableton 6 then im saying bye bye to xp.

:(

What distro have you use?

i tried one JAS from my friend that does`t work,so i took second dvd from my other friend, also JAS ... so :( ... lets just say that i had a luck ....

tried all combination with hd in BIOS,tried with compatible mode with pata/sata/pata+sata ,"standard" (some other name i can`t remember) ...

nothing,nothing ...

but when i insert 2. distro .....BOOM ...... installed in 1. .....

p.s. but just in case ,make your hd setting (or ide controller ) in bios on compatible mode and just pata ports only ,now working for me just with that settings ..

Thanks clintoy,

THat was the problem.Must use only the one channel for disk and dvdrw.

Some help also for suitable drivers for ethernet, audio and display(as i see only 1024x768 resolution stting).

this should help you with the resolution:

---------------------------------------------

Copy:

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

to desktop

edit (desktop version):

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

into:

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string>"Graphics Mode"="1280*1024*32"</string>

Save and exit

Copy your desktop version back to:

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/

Click authenticate

Click overwrite

Enter password

Done

------------------------------------------------

you will have to know the chipset of your ethernet and audio...

I use the pinxue rhine driver and worked ok.

I'm on the net with my pc now.. :D

As for the display, this was great.

Just thinking if there is any possibility of having some more choices in System preferences->Display except from one resolution...
