I am installing directly to 1 of the western digital caviar's (Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200AAKS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s) The caviar Im installing to is connected to the 4th sata plug on my mobo.

I was finally able to get some progress when I used a usb dvd drive. I had to change the bios to ide to ahcp(something like that) with the jas 10.4.8 release my computer would restart after a complete install and tell me to restart over and over again and would sometimes get stuck on the grey apple screen with a small circle and a line through it. Then i tried the uphuck version 10.4.9 and that installed but during reboot i got stuck on a black screen with a blinking cursor. im confused and ive been reading alot of forums any help would be nice.

I changed the sata port to sata 1 on my mobo. And I tried changing the Enhanced to Compatible, during install this made it to where it only recognized a 127 gig hard drive(I am installing to a 320 gigger) and it seemed like the install was twice as long. And of course I had the same result's in the long run. Black Screen with blinking cursor on the Uphuck version 10.4.9. Then I tried the jas 10.4.8 amd/intel sse2-sse3 ppf1 and ppf2 and it went to the grey apple screen and continued to ask me to reboot in all the languages and sometimes even stayed on the grey apple screen but a circle with a line through it would pop up. A couple of more questions, in the bios there are 2 spots to change the option of raid, ide, or AHCI. Im downloading the jas intel only version of 10.4.8 sse3 right now i know im close but this is killing me trying. Any other idea's would of course be helpful. Im including some bios screenshots to hopefully help some. Image 23 is where i tried compatible instead of enhanced. which took away any option of setting raid ide or ahci. Then i went to advanced tab in the bios and chose onboard device configuration and I chose AHCI to do the install with the usb dvd drive.
