Golden-boy
Hello, I have a DFI Nforce4 sli-dr mobo which has a SiliconImage 3114 RAID controller. Acording to the wiki it wont work, as it will hang on "still waiting for root device" (Silicon Image (SiI) SATA controllers will not work for boot ("still waiting for root device"). Common chip on add-in SATA & RAID cards and on NForce mobo.) So I was wondering if someone manged to fix it or that it will never be possible. Atm I can boot the DVD but i won't recognize any the RAID nor the drive itself but it does write to my HD while booting. Will it possibly work with the Nforce raid controller thats also on the mobo, I havent tested this yet because Vista doesnt even boot when I connect it to the other controller (Tho it does recognize the RAID0 in the bios and the RAID Bios). thnx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57660-hardware-raid-fix/ Share on other sites

Golden-boy
Yeah thats true, but it´s not like a Software raid you set up in windows. The CPU is not used for the calculations right. Ok so that means it´s just not possible thanks.
