daveywilks19
Hi, I've been running osx86 for a while now as my primary OS. Recently I had the opertunity to upgrade my processor from a single core AMD 3700+ to a dual core 3800+. This is on S939. No matter what kernels I try or configurations (cpus=2 etc) I can't get either system profiler or activity monitor to report 2 cores . I think my original install was a jas .8 dvd updated to .9 possibly using tubgirls test1 update (maybe) My XBench results have also stayed pretty much the same and the system genrally seams the same Anybody have any ideas? While I'm here, anyone ever had an AMD system reboot or shutdown properly because mine never has. Cheers guys, hope somebody can reply to this plead for help! Guest Ramm
Try reinstalling, maybe it will detect it. As goes your reboot/shutdown problem, have you tried another kernel? daveywilks
I've tried a load of kernels and I've always had this probem. Oh well. Think I'll try a reinstall, might wait for 1.4a. I'm trying to get the new tugirl at the moment but it wont be finished until tonight. Somehow I've just realised I have 2 accounts . Nevermind Cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/57615-amd-3800-x2-only-one-core-working-1049/#findComment-411771 Share on other sites
