Brand new to the OSx86 scene, so forgive me if I leave out info...

Just got in a brand new x61s and was going to see if I could get it triple booting.

Installing from a 10.4.8 disk went just fine, and the machine boots, however neither the wired ethernet, nor the wireless works properly.

Wired: Intel PRO/1000

Wireless: Atheros a/b/g

After a fresh install, OSX sees my Wired, however I consistantly get a message that the Ethernet is not plugged in (tried multiple cords/switches), works fine in windows/linux/other boxes.

The wireless is unseen (no reference anywhere).

After installing Pacifist and IO80211Family.kext from MacOSXUpd10.4.5ForIntel I have slightly better results.

The wired ethernet now at least allows me to configure it (select DHCP/Manual, etc), previously was grey'd out, and doubleclicking didn't do anything. However, it still won't pull an IP or ping computers on the local LAN with a manual address...

The wireless widget now shows in the upper right corner of the task bar, but when clicked says "Airport: Not Configured". When going into the networking preferences, it isn't listed anywhere.

Any thoughts/suggestions/requests?

Thanks in advance.

Correct, Lenovo (IBM) Thinkpad x61s.

Looking again, but I don't see wireless anywhere.

Clicking on the wifi icon gives me two lines:

(Grey'd out) "Airport: Not Configured"

(Available) "Open Network Preferences"

When going to network preferences, all that is listed is the "Built-In Ethernet" which says "The cable for Built-In Ethernet is not plugged in".

No mention of the AirPort anywhere in the preferences...
