mac-os-ash
Hi all, I've just managed to install osx on my laptop natively alongside xp and its working. However, when I restarted, I wasn't greeted with a choice of which os to select. But i managed to F8 my way into the os selection. The problem is... when I selected hda(0,1) -which was my XP partition. I was thrown a message: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <windows root>\system32\hal.dll Please re-install a copy of the above file. Is there anyway I can salvage my XP partition? Is it due to the MBR? Can I use my x64 XP's hal.dll on it? -it's a normal 32bit xp Could the installation of tiger corrupted the file? Everything was working fine up till after the installation. Please help. Thanks in advance! thestevo
I think this might stem from the XP partition not being set as active with the boot flag. If it is set as such it may boot normally again.
