EFI
Apple released a firmware restoration patch for Intel powered Macs. This update restores your Intel Mac's firmware to the previous version if a current firmware update gets interrupted or was not installed properly. You can only use this to restore the firmware after an interrupted or failed update. If your computer is already in this state, you'll need to download the software and create the CD on another Macintosh computer, or you can take your computer to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to restore your firmware. This CD can be created on both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macintosh computers. Firmware Restoration CD 1.3 File size: 22 MB Instructions on how to install are posted on the above web page from Apple. Firmware updates/restoration should not be taken lightly. Read the instructions very carefully if you are going to restore.
