youngi Posted July 10, 2007 Share Posted July 10, 2007 hey guys, new to OSX x86, still a day left for complete download of JAS 10.4.8 i got an intel celeron 1.70Ghz it's an MMX, SSE, SSE2 motherboard: Matsonic MS9327E with a chipset SiS 650 memory : 768MB Ram VGA card: Nvidia Riva TNT2 model 64 ethernet on board: sis 900 (i know it's not supported yet, probably buyin a LAN card) so, will these work on 10.4.8? and will the update to 10.4.9 work too? I don't think anything older than a GeForce 2 at the oldest has much of a chance of working. Common Sense Posted July 10, 2007 Share Posted July 10, 2007 If you dont need to play games then I would suggest a Geforce FX 5200 they work great in OS X from what I have read. Also you can get one for $28.99 at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814136007 and it has 1 x dvi 1 x vga and one s-video out, not bad for that kind of money. People are going to tell you its really slow and you want to buy something else but imho if your not playing games it will do just fine. btw it looks like there is NV10 support in OS X so that means it should run on a Geforce1, there are kext files for it.
