hey guys, new to OSX x86, still a day left for complete download of JAS 10.4.8

i got an intel celeron 1.70Ghz it's an MMX, SSE, SSE2

motherboard: Matsonic MS9327E with a chipset SiS 650

memory : 768MB Ram

VGA card: Nvidia Riva TNT2 model 64

ethernet on board: sis 900 (i know it's not supported yet, probably buyin a LAN card)

so, will these work on 10.4.8? and will the update to 10.4.9 work too?

I don't actually understand what i have to do on macvidia website, is my RIVA TNT2 supported driver available?

thank you for your help

If you dont need to play games then I would suggest a Geforce FX 5200 they work great in OS X from what I have read. Also you can get one for $28.99 at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814136007 and it has 1 x dvi 1 x vga and one s-video out, not bad for that kind of money. People are going to tell you its really slow and you want to buy something else but imho if your not playing games it will do just fine.

btw it looks like there is NV10 support in OS X so that means it should run on a Geforce1, there are kext files for it.

nevermind, im gonna search around to have a workin set to try out the OS X...but im gettin a laptop anyway, that's why i need to try the laptop to know its specs exactly to know if they're compatible with the x86 version or not...i hope i find something good
