cineveggie
Hello! Hoping you folks can help me. I managed to get OSX installed on a system based on this board: http://www.amdboard.com/tyan_s2895_opteron_board.html Everything went fine, and OSX starts booting off the SATA drive, but I have run into the dreaded Still waiting for root device warning. The first time this was right after FusionMPT, which I have read on other threads is related to the LSI SCSI (which is onboard on this board). I went into BIOS and selected Do Not Configure the SCSI card (Disable is not an option); now when I boot, it hits the warning right after the ApplePS2Keyboard:Probe Failed (I use a USB keyboard and mouse, so I assume this is okay; the installer was able to use both). On the first boot, it probed the PS2 right before the SCSI, so I assume it's tripping in the same place. Any ideas? Any way to get the boot process to completely ignore the SCSI? Any help is appreciated. TIA! (btw. I know someone has managed to get this board booting with 10.4.6 according to one of the threads here; I am currently trying to boot the JaS10.4.8 w/ PPF1&2 and the AMD extensions installed) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56691-boot-problems-on-tyan-s2895-board-choking-on-scsi/ Share on other sites
