duckpond
I have installed JaS 10.4.8 natively on a Dimension 9200, which has ATI Radeon x600. Of course I got 1024x768 out of the box;-) Fine, went ahead installed Callisto b008 (and all other versions), followed instruction to the letters. Reboot, nothing happened, as if I did not installed any thing, still can't change resolution. I then checked Extensions in the Profiler, and don't see Callisto listed there, manually loaded with kextload -t /System/Library/Extensions/Callisto.kext, report loading successfully. I suspect somehow the system is not able to load the package at boot time, then I add the above line in to the top of /etc/rc file, on next rebooting, I saw the message says loading Callisto.kext is a success. Weird part: Callisto is still not listed in the Profiler -> Extensions, I did manual loading again, and report says it was a success again. Only if I do a second manual loading, the message will say that "Callisto is already loaded". My question: why is Callisto not loaded at boot time? even though I added the manual loading command in the /etc/rc file? p.s. I am new to Mac but not new to linux, so consider myself understand Omni's instruction hence followed w/o error. A side question: 1. The card has 256MB, but system reports 128MB; 2. I have not even tried koverg's patch but QE and CI are already there: Type: Display Bus: PCIe VRAM (Total): 128 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x5b62 Revision ID: 0x0000 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1024 x 768 Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Supported Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56662-load-callisto-driver/ Share on other sites
