sasi_10
Hi , I am trying to boot the 9a466 DVD in my system. The instruction everywhere suggest to hold the "Option" key when Mac is booting to show the "Startup disk dialog" and choose the DVD-ROM to start the installation process. But , when I press the "Option"(Windows ALT in my keyboard) key , my old Mac ,10.4.7 boots up without pausing for Startup disk selection screen. Infact, I get the Safe boot login dialog on pressing the Option key. Previously I have set the "Mac 10.5 Leopard boot" from the Startup disk dialog in the Control panel of 10.4.7. But in vain. Hence , are there any solutions to either boot my DVD or bring up the Startup disk screen ? badge
are you trying to boot the leopard beta disc without any hackintosh edits? You cannot just download the leopard beta and expect it to work on a hack, just like you can't go to a store and buy OS X Tiger and expect it to boot on a hack. badge
no, but just like you had to download a hacked version of OS X Tiger (JaS, Uphuck, etc) you'll need to download a hacked version of Leopard. Im assuming there are several threads on it around here, you may need to hunt (I would say search, but the search engine on here blows). Danyel
Hi Sasi_10: Leopard (10.5), just like Tiger (10.4), will need to be modified to work on your Hackintosh. Does the version you have been modified to work on Hackintosh's? --danyel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/56607-no-startup-disk-screen/#findComment-404702 Share on other sites
