I have tried desperately many unsuccessful time to just boot from the uphuck 1.3 DVD.

1.hitting F8 all I can see is something that say hd(111,1) uphuck 1.3 dvd(something like that)

2.if I hit enter or -v(same results) it starts loading HFS+ files(big font), blinks screens to another screen that has little font(disappears too quick to read anything), and then reboots the computer

I have created a partition on my internal hard drive and have also tried on an external hard drive. Nothing seems to work. I have no idea what is wrong. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanx in advance.

Can someone can point me to a guide to installing on an external hard drive? I have a feeling I'm not doing this properly.

I have a similar problem on a friends Toshiba. It doesn't "see" the hard drive. I get to the installation menu, but I'm, not able to format the HD. I can only acess the installion DVD. Any ideas?

Thanks!

This guy was also using a toshiba and installed on an external hard drive and then after installing the SATA drivers, he cloned it over to his internal hard drive
