Well my story is i staeted to load Jas 10.4.8 and i would get part of the way in to the install and get th "unknown error restart" after dealimng with this i gave up!! Then read more and tryed using Jas 10.4.6 and Myz 10.4.6 well now i just stay in the apple logo with the spinny thang just going and going. i can hear the DVD drive reading but i just stays the same. i also used VMWare to load and it seemed to install but not boot with error i just could not fix (i spent a few days on the internet using all info i could find with no help) when i looked in the HD with linux i could see the OS installed! I was going for a dual boot system but now i started over with a fresh install on a clean HD! I was going to let OSx86 partition the HD and format it then try another install of OSx and XP on the other partition!! with OSx installed first!! my system is: Dell M170 Laptop 2.0 intel 1 G of RAM 80 G HD 7200rpm 6800 nvida G card Any help would be great!!! I will be happy to type more!!! \I have tryed many diff. ways to fix the prob.... does any one have a DELL M170 i have done a search a seen a few people have done the install and got it to work! any tips????? spicolli Posted July 8, 2007 Author Share Posted July 8, 2007 Well im going to try a fresh install (did it before no luck) I reburned the jas and upuck DVDs (10.4.8) and the Myz (10.4.6). I loaded UPHUCK got to the disk scan and if failed ({censored}) did the same to Jas and failed also I think it is a hard ware prob. i was able to get the install done in VMWare for 10.4.6 but no boot.... i get the FHS+ error and/or the boot error... i have done all i can think of and followed all the information i can find (even got a external DVD RW) but it wont boot from it {censored}!! well i needed on any ways I have crapy bios and it wont let me mod them much and from what i can find i have the latest one... some one elce out in the world must have a Dell M170 that got it to work that can give me a hand !!??!! Well i have learned so much on this forun and if i ever get a new laptop i know i can get this to work! (some day)? with that said i think i will try one more time then... if i still cant get it to work I will go back to Win XP and Linux dual boot on my laptop!! and just keep MAC OSx and Win XP dual boot to my intel mac pro!!!
